Kakeibo Privacy Policy

Kakeibo (Japanese app name: はや家計簿) is a simple expense tracker. This policy explains how the app handles information.

What this policy covers

This policy covers information that you enter and store inside Kakeibo. Information processed by Apple, Google, GitHub, or a hosting provider—including the App Store, TestFlight, your Apple ID, iCloud backups, and this site—may also be subject to those services’ terms and privacy policies.

Information stored on your device

The app stores expense and income amounts, categories, dates, memos, tags, wallets, recurring-entry links, custom category and feature definitions, monthly budget, notification settings, display language, display and spending currencies, cached exchange rates, widget summaries, CSV import provenance, the cached Premium entitlement result, and feature or notice state.

This information stays in the local app database or the App Group container used by widgets.

Memo field

Please do not enter sensitive information such as your real name, address, phone number, email address, bank or card number, national identification number, or passwords in a memo.

Connections outside the app

Kakeibo does not send your household records, categories, memos, budget, or settings to the developer’s servers.

When display and spending currencies differ, the app may fetch the European Central Bank’s public exchange-rate XML. The request contains none of your household data. Rates are reference values and may differ from an actual payment or bank rate.

CSV import and export

The app reads only a file you choose in the iOS file picker. Parsing and importing happen on your device; the file is not sent to the developer or an advertising SDK.

An exported CSV can contain the date, amount, currency, entry type, category, memo, record ID, CSV import provenance, tags, and wallet. The iOS share sheet sends it only to the destination you choose. That destination’s privacy policy then applies, and the app cannot delete a copy held there. Temporary export files are deleted on the next export.

Immediately before version 2.0.0 changes the on-device amount format, it automatically saves one verified safety CSV with all records in their previous format. File protection prevents reading it while the device is locked. It is not sent outside the app, can be exported from Settings > Data, and is deleted by Full Reset.

Premium purchase

Kakeibo Premium is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple. The app does not receive your payment details, Apple ID, or billing information. StoreKit checks the entitlement, which can be restored with the same Apple ID.

When Premium is confirmed at launch, the app does not initialise the advertising SDK, request ads, or ask for advertising consent. If Premium is purchased while using the free version, the ad slot disappears and new ad requests stop as soon as the purchase is reflected. An SDK already initialised in that launch may remain in memory until you quit; it is not initialised on the next launch.

Advertising SDKs

The free version may use the Google Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform SDK. These providers may process approximate location inferred from an IP address, device or app identifiers, ad interactions, advertising data, launches, performance, and diagnostic or crash data to serve ads, control frequency, prevent fraud, measure performance, and improve quality.

Kakeibo does not send your amounts, categories, memos, budget, or settings to an advertising SDK for the developer’s targeting. Required regions may show consent or privacy options. Kakeibo does not currently request App Tracking Transparency permission, and its core features remain available regardless of advertising consent.

The app has no custom backend, sign-in, or account creation.

Notifications and deletion

Notifications are local and do not send expense data to the developer. You can delete records in the app. Removing the app normally removes its on-device data; Apple-provided device backups follow Apple’s settings and behaviour.

Support and public pages

Information you choose to send through TestFlight or support is used only as needed to reply, improve quality, and investigate defects. Do not include sensitive information in screenshots or memos.

A hosting provider, browser, or network provider may process cookies, access logs, or device information when you view this site.
